Justo antes de irme a dormir me he topado con esta reflexi\u00f3n de Seth Godin<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Successful freelancers<\/strong> need to charge at least<\/em> double the hourly rate<\/strong> that they’d be happy earning doing full time work. (In many fields, it’s more like 4 or 5x).<\/p>\n

And they need to spend at least half their time getting better at their craft (and helping the market understand and appreciate what they do).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your mileage may vary, but one sure route to becoming an unhappy freelancer is charging just enough<\/strong> and hoping that the low price will keep you busy all the time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Y me ha llamado la atenci\u00f3n porque creo que estos tres pilares del \u00e9xito pueden aplicarse tanto a aut\u00f3nomos como a asalariados:<\/p>\n

  1. El dinero que ganas<\/strong> (obs\u00e9rvese la diferencia entre ganar y cobrar\/ingresar) forma parte del \u00e9xito que tengas como profesional (aut\u00f3nomo o no). No porque tengas que ganar una millonada (a todos nos gustar\u00eda, \u00bfno?), la cosa est\u00e1 m\u00e1s bien en que ganar m\u00e1s dinero del que necesitas para subsistir<\/strong> te permite ahorrar. La estabilidad laboral es una quimera en la sociedad actual, de modo que no nos queda otra que aspirar a la estabilidad financiera, como si fu\u00e9ramos una empresa, vamos.<\/li>\n
  2. Al menos necesitas emplear la mitad de tu tiempo en mejorar tus habilidades<\/strong> por un lado y, por otro, en educar a tus clientes\/jefes (presentes y futuros) para que sepan apreciar lo que haces<\/strong>. Si no te mantienes al d\u00eda, tu competencia te adelantar\u00e1 tarde o temprano. Y si no te haces valer ante tus clientes o tus jefes ni tampoco tienes claro qu\u00e9 valor aportas al mundo, nadie te va a regalar nada por muchos t\u00edtulos, conocimientos o experiencia que tengas a tus espaldas. Ser conformista no es una opci\u00f3n para los que quieren sobrevivir.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
